Carmel Forest Resort & Spa

is set within the Carmel Mountains near Haifa, where a former rehabilitation sanitarium was transformed into a European-style wellness resort. The landscape design focuses on integrating the expanded built complex into its natural surroundings, drawing on local stone craftsmanship and native Mediterranean pine-oak woodland planting. The project addresses site constraints through layered parking solutions that minimize visual impact, while interior courtyards are reimagined as lush, introspective gardens with water elements that respond to the site’s microclimate. Roofscapes are treated as Zen-inspired gravel gardens using natural lava stone, turning technical surfaces into a refined visual layer. Through a combination of natural materials, restrained geometry, and sensitivity to context, the project creates a seamless dialogue between architecture and landscape, enhancing both the experiential quality of the resort and its integration within the Carmel forest.
